Coleman sleeping bags contain a filling known as Coletherm, which is a synthetic hollow fibre material that creates pockets of air. The structure of Coleman bags are made using a filling called "Coletherm". Coletherm consists of hollowfibre filaments that trap a greater amount of air, improving the loft and temperature performance of the sleeping bag. Air pockets help your body retain heat and reduce the convective heat loss, thereby keeping you warmer. Machine washing does not affect its performance. All bags are performance tested but you should take into account that everybody has different physiology, and that ground insulation can affect the performance of the bag.
